In a speech following the terrorist attack in London last week, UK Prime Minister Theresa May pledged to “regulate cyberspace to prevent the spread of extremism and terrorism planning” and to ensure there is no “safe space for terrorists to be able to communicate online”. This statement shows just how out of touch and clueless the government is in these matters.

Usually, I hate the phrase ‘emotional roller coaster’, but fuck me, was April an emotional roller coaster. It started well, really well, I was up $260 monthly recurring revenue in the first week! Then in the middle of the month things started to go down hill.

March was a pretty decent month, loads better than February, but then that’s not really much of an achievement. This was my first month with the new pricing structure, and without the free plan, which definitely had an effect, and mostly it was for the better.

Ah February, always seems to be a bit a shit month for me. In fact I could pretty much just copy and paste last February’s blog post - not much income growth, and only a small net increase in paying customers. Still, growth is growth, and grow I did.

Up until now these monthly posts have been somewhat awkwardly titled “From Side Project to Profitable Startup”. I’ve decided to drop that title format now that BugMuncher is profitable, so these posts will just be referred to as “[month] [year] Income Report”.

After an amazing November, I decided to take it easy for the rest of the year, essentially putting BugMuncher in maintenance mode of the month. Ie: just responding to emails and fixing issues. So considering I put zero effort into marketing or development, December was a surprisingly good month.
